Name Everything You Can

In life, everything has a name. Names give things an identity. Names help us to create associations between our brains and different objects and subjects that we encounter.

Names help us to memorise things easily. so when we need to bring them back, the name is a useful trigger for that.

In Microsoft Excel we have the ability to give meaningful names to various objects that we interact with.

When we have assigned names appropriately, it becomes easier for us to use the software as well as others that we share our work with.

Below are examples of different objects for which we can create custom names in Microsoft Excel.

Organising Names

Once the names have been created, they can me managed and organised through the Name Manager. To be very effective in organising your custom names, it is useful to give some though to the naming conventions you use. For example, range names can be prefixed with ‘rg_’, tables with ‘tb_’.
